At the therapy center at Maienplatz, we deliberately use modern technologies to provide the best possible support for our patients—especially in the field of occupational therapy. A particular highlight is the ErgoPen Neo, an intelligent pen that helps us objectively analyze and promote writing and graphomotor skills.
What is the ErgoPen Neo?
The ErgoPen Neo is much more than just a digital pen: it measures grip and writing pressure, writing angle, writing frequency, duration, and the degree of automation during writing—in real time. The data is transmitted directly to a tablet (Samsung or iPad) and evaluated by an app.
This allows us not only to accurately assess the current level of motor skills but also to plan therapy goals in a data-driven and individualized way.
Why is this so important?
Children with graphomotor difficulties especially benefit from this precise measurement. But the ErgoPen Neo is also a valuable aid in hand therapy and neurology—such as after a stroke—to make progress visible and increase motivation.
A particular advantage is the live feedback training: the pen provides feedback during the exercise so that movements can be immediately adjusted and improved. This makes learning or practicing writing not only more effective but also more engaging.
Who is the ErgoPen Neo suitable for?
Its applications are versatile—for example:
- Children in preschool and elementary school
- Adolescents with writing difficulties
- Adults with neurological impairments
- People in hand therapy or recovering from injuries
Our experience at the therapy center
Thanks to the ErgoPen Neo, we can create objective findings, automatically generate therapy reports for doctors, and transparently document our patients’ progress. This saves time and provides clarity—even when working with parents, teachers, or treating physicians.
For us, the ErgoPen Neo is a real asset—and for our patients, another step toward modern, targeted, and individualized therapy.
